Master Milk Texturing

Mastering milk texturing is the foundation of great latte art. You’ll learn about the different types of milk and their frothing properties. We’ll cover essential techniques to achieve the perfect microfoam, which is essential for creating smooth, velvety latte art. This segment also includes practical tips on using the steam wand and controlling milk temperature for the best results.

Explore Different Types of Milk

  • Understand the properties of milk and selected alternative milks

Techniques for a Velvety Microfoam

  • Proper steam wand positioning and angle.
  • Steps for creating microfoam: aerating and texturing
  • Techniques for starting and stopping the steam at the right times.
  • Tips for avoiding common mistakes, such as overheating or under/over-aerating milk.

Milk Temperature

  • Ideal milk temperature
  • Using a thermometer vs. touch method to gauge temperature.

Create Latte Art Patterns

Now, it’s time to start pouring! You’ll begin with the basics, learning how to pour milk to create simple yet elegant patterns like hearts, tulips, and rosettes. We’ll break down the fundamentals of free pouring and practice together until you get it right. By the end of this segment, you’ll be able to pour simple but beautiful designs in your lattes.

Pouring Techniques
